PANDEMIC Vs GOALS
The year 2020 has been a wild year so far. The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has turned the world upside down and as presented a new reality for all of us. Majority of us are at home right now, or maybe furloughed. For some this is all doom and gloom, while some see this as an opportunity to make the best of the bad situation. Try being one among them and start making your goals. I mentioned pandemic because there is no better time for most of us to start fresh and set new goals.
I know it sounds boring to write down your goals on paper but, it is the only first step; Setting your goal produces and requires hard work to achieve it. Here are some ways you can get good at setting and achieving goals in life, no matter where you are today.
SET SMART GOALS.
Here SMART is an acronym. If you haven’t heard of the SMART goals acronym, today is your lucky day. SMART stands for the goals that are:-
👉 Measurable: Working on your goal everyday for few hours is measurable. Did you spend those hours tonight, measure it and keep a track on it.
👉 Attainable: Questioning yourself is this goal attainable. If your confident about it then sure you will achieve all your goals.
👉 Relevant: Checking whether what your doing is relevant for achieving your goal or whether it is adding any value to your goal is also very important.
👉 Time Based:
How long your goal will take you to achieve it. Writing it down and motivating
yourself will drive you to do it.
Talk confidently to the people about the goals your setting. For the most part they will encourage you and hold you accountable. If you keep it to yourself then no one will know what your doing, which makes it easy to just give up. Tell a parent, a friend or who have experience in that field. Vocalising your goals to others will keep you focused on achieving it and provide some push from supporters when things get tough, because they will get tough at some point. Making commitments and following it can be hard for some of us. But when you achieve your goal you become stronger to achieve the next goal.
It sounds boring but important to write in your journal about goal setting process and your commitments to achieving those goals. By looking back on your journal entries and reading about how you had tough days and didn’t want to study or do anything will motivate you to keep going. When you click the 'finish' button and submit your exam, and then see the result that you passed, it will make it all worth it. You will be inspired moving forward and making more goals .We all have ton of time on our hands these days, let’s make the best of it.
Amazing 👌🙌
